Flyer Search

This term sometimes refers to the gun station at which a live bird is shot; can also refer to the live shot bird used in marking set ups. This is a dog’s favorite bird. In hunt tests or field trials, it is not practical to use live birds on every mark. Dead birds are sometimes thrown with an accompanying shot. Dogs love the flyers so much that it can distract them from watching the dead-bird marks. Or, a dog can be tempted to return to the fall of the flyer.
